Weber Liebfraumilch, Rheinhessen, 2004
In the middle ages, German monks at the Church of Our Lady cultivated the grapes that first produced this aromatic wine. Pleased with its heavenly flavor, they crowned it with the holy name it bears today, which translates: milk of our lady. Qualitatswein. An earthy, complex bouquet prepares the tastebuds for this rich, drier wine, whose ripe fruity flavors reveal its origins in the Rheinhessen region. With a hint of sweetness at first blush and a long, dry finish, it holds its own against flavorful foods. Served chilled with smoky grilled vegetables and spicy dishes from the Southwest and Asia. Alc. 9.5% by vol. Product of Germany.
