Kendall Jackson Vintner's Reserve Meritage, California, 2006

Cabernet Sauvignon 66%, Merlot 32%, Cabernet Franc 1%, Petit Verdot 1%. For nearly three decades, my family has sourced fruit from our mountain and hillside vineyards to bring you world-class wines. Terroir, that mystical melding of light, water, soil and human touch, is critical to creating world-class wines. Long ago, I learned that grapes grown on California's cool coastal vineyards, specifically mountains, ridges and hillsides, produce wines of rich, intense and complex flavors. It's not easy to do this. It requires patience, determination and sustainable farming practices. My family and I are committed to this process because we believe when you taste our wine, you can taste the unique terroir from each of our estate vineyards. This Meritage wine is a Bordeaux-style blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, from several cooler regions with elevated vineyards delivering distinct flavors. Cold-soak fermentation, utilizing the saignee method and aging in a combination of French and American oak barrels provide sumptuous texture. Roasted coffee, dark chocolate, pomegranate and black cherry intertwine giving you a multi-layered full mouthfeel. - Founder, Jess S. Jackson. Alc. 13.5% by vol.
