Concha Y Toro Don Melchor Cabernet Sauvignon, Puente Alto, Chile, 2006

Vintage 20. The single vineyard Don Melchor originates from 114 hectares at Puente Alto in the Alto Maipo Valley. At the food of the Andes Mountains, this is the finest terroir for cultivating Cabernet Sauvignon in Chile. In 1984 Eduardo Guilisasti Tagle's vision for the vineyard compelled him to send samples of wine for eminent enologists to taste in Bordeaux. Jacques Boissenot's enthusiasm was immediate and he has been involved in the making of every vintage since. In a year of large daily thermal amplitudes, fruit was carefully tracked until the late harvest delivered this beautifully balanced, openly expressive Cabernet Sauvignon containing 4% cabernet franc. Best decanted. Alc. 14.5% by vol. Produce of Chile.
